In clouds #6

When I am walking along mountain trails, I think invariably for many years, that the mountains are attractive, enchanting, mysterious as our faith, our steps to the Fullness of Life.  Our desire and our action are enough to be able to touch them for a moment, to feel and to enjoy their beauty.

Even if we are in the mountains on our vacation,  we get up early in the morning to start the mountain trip. It is often long and tiring. Not just physically.  Our mindfulness must be sharpened, because it is easy to misplace your foot, lose the trail. Despite this we are going and  going … we can’t  see the purpose of our expedition, because we walk in the valley, because other peaks cover the one that is our goal, but we are faithfully walking and we trust that we are on the right path. We often use signposts such as: maps, other people, GPS. It doesn’t matter that we do not know how much time it will take us and what and who we meet on the road. Maybe thanks to this unknown road, without a detailed plan and our control over what is going on (even the weather, which can change everything), we become more open to others, more open to modifying the plan, more open to discover the beauty of the landscape and to feel our needs, even physiological needs, because we listen more to our body. During our hike we have also difficult moments, we doubts in our strength,  we have crises. We can surrender to them or, in spite of them, go on.

Recently I was climbing up with my Daughter on the mountain Rysy (we won it! :)). We was climbing in dense fog, so the peak was not visible. If you were there, you  know that the way is tiresome especially by its length, and everyone dreams of admiring beautiful views, of looking at the ponds and other Tatras peaks. On the way we met some people going down despite the early hours. During short conversations, we learned, that they resigned from further climbing because of the clouds. They said their energy and their strength for climbing were wasted, because they would see only the clouds. I deliberately emphasized both words, because what seems to us to be a loss and to be only, later turns out to be something quite the opposite., All clouds spread, melted away 10 minutes before our reaching the top of Rysy. So we could sit on the top in beautiful sunshine and we could admire the landscape. Our labor was after Something.

Our perception is very limited. We can only see what is close. God overwhelms everything. God sees our faithfulness, how we look for a way to reach the goal, our effort and  then God discovers before us such beautiful views after each journey.

What if there were clouds? It would be great, because not every day we have the opportunity to rest in the clouds 🙂

Is not our daily life usually a journey through the unknown, once up and once down through the clouds? How do you perceive the beauty of your way? How and where are you looking for the possibilities and motivations to reach the Goal?

Remember, clouds can break away at any moment, just want to notice it. 🙂
