In clouds #6

When I am walking along mountain trails, I think invariably for many years, that the mountains are attractive, enchanting, mysterious as our faith, our steps to the Fullness of Life.  Our desire and our action are enough to be able to touch them for a moment, to feel and to enjoy their beauty.

Even if we are in the mountains on our vacation,  we get up early in the morning to start the mountain trip. It is often long and tiring. Not just physically.  Our mindfulness must be sharpened, because it is easy to misplace your foot, lose the trail. Despite this we are going and  going … we can’t  see the purpose of our expedition, because we walk in the valley, because other peaks cover the one that is our goal, but we are faithfully walking and we trust that we are on the right path. We often use signposts such as: maps, other people, GPS. It doesn’t matter that we do not know how much time it will take us and what and who we meet on the road. Maybe thanks to this unknown road, without a detailed plan and our control over what is going on (even the weather, which can change everything), we become more open to others, more open to modifying the plan, more open to discover the beauty of the landscape and to feel our needs, even physiological needs, because we listen more to our body. During our hike we have also difficult moments, we doubts in our strength,  we have crises. We can surrender to them or, in spite of them, go on.

Recently I was climbing up with my Daughter on the mountain Rysy (we won it! :)). We was climbing in dense fog, so the peak was not visible. If you were there, you  know that the way is tiresome especially by its length, and everyone dreams of admiring beautiful views, of looking at the ponds and other Tatras peaks. On the way we met some people going down despite the early hours. During short conversations, we learned, that they resigned from further climbing because of the clouds. They said their energy and their strength for climbing were wasted, because they would see only the clouds. I deliberately emphasized both words, because what seems to us to be a loss and to be only, later turns out to be something quite the opposite., All clouds spread, melted away 10 minutes before our reaching the top of Rysy. So we could sit on the top in beautiful sunshine and we could admire the landscape. Our labor was after Something.

Our perception is very limited. We can only see what is close. God overwhelms everything. God sees our faithfulness, how we look for a way to reach the goal, our effort and  then God discovers before us such beautiful views after each journey.

What if there were clouds? It would be great, because not every day we have the opportunity to rest in the clouds 🙂

Is not our daily life usually a journey through the unknown, once up and once down through the clouds? How do you perceive the beauty of your way? How and where are you looking for the possibilities and motivations to reach the Goal?

Remember, clouds can break away at any moment, just want to notice it. 🙂

Meditation Mk 6,17-29

Stand in God’s presence. God is present here and now, looking upon you with love.

Ask for the Grace: I will beg God our Lord that all my intentions and actions may be directed purely to the praise and service of His Divine Majesty

Fixing a place, a picture for meditation: The Beautiful ballroom. Plated tables, some music, dancing guests. All because of Herod’s birthday. Herodias’s daughter is going into the ballroom and start to dance. Firstly alone, later with Herod. After a while she is running to his mother and returns to Herod. Despite Herod is deeply distressed, he orders his subordinates. All guests are still having a nice time. Suddenly, an executioner is going into this room. He has the head of John the Baptist. This is a gift to Herodias’s daughter. Let yourself be at this Herod’s birthday party. Try to look at the characters, to listen to them, to dance …

Ask for the fruit of meditation: the courage to become free man on the way to God

1. Herodias hated John the Baptist, because he was telling the truth, that was painful for her. Perhaps it aroused her anxiety. So, she wanted his death. How did the death of John the Baptist, exactly his murder, could improve the situation of Herodias? Probably in any way. Although, there was no anyone, who would remind her the sin of adultery. But She could have other remorse in this place, much tiring and much more fearful. So you can see, that it is not good to bury difficulties, to push them aside, because it doesn’t not make them disappear. More, it often leads to next new difficulties. What difficulties did you bury, did you hid for later? What positive things can you get out of them? Let yourself to look at it with Jesus eyes.

2. Ask of me whatever you wish, and I will grant it to you. This is Herod’s words to Herodias’s daughter. He kept his oath and the girl got exactly what she wished. You can ask if she really wanted to it. And further to whom was it good?We also usually expect such accurate fulfillment of our requests from God. Make a reflection on how God responds to your requests.

3. John the Baptist was in prison. In spite of this, he still fulfilled his mission: his serving to God. He spoke uncomfortable truth to people. He lived in harmony with himself. He was a free man, that what God creates each of us. What can you learn from John the Baptist and his life? In what spaces of your life do you need freedom? What can you do to get it?

4. John the Baptist was a relative of Jesus. So, Jesus as a man, could experience his loss. Let yourself to sit near Jesus and be with Him.

Meditation: St Ignatius encourages in The Spiritual Exercises No. 2 … Because not so much knowledge, but internal feeling and the taste of things please and saturate the soul, that is, we stay where we feel interior movement … and nervously do not try to go on.

The final conversation: Spend a little time at the end, being with God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit….as you would with a good friend: sometimes talking, sometimes listening, sometimes being together in silence. Speak to God about your feelings. Remember that times when ‘nothing is happening’ can also be significant. When you’re ready, end your prayer by saying thank you or using words that are familiar, such as the Lord’s Prayer (Our Father)–whichever feels right and comfortable. (The Spiritual Exercises No.54)

As not always #5

You get up at the same time each day. You go to the toilet, then to the kitchen. You make coffee and drink it in a hurry. You get ready for work and quickly leave home. You get in the car and you are driving with your head full of thoughts what you have to do. After work you go to shopping to the same shop to buy the same kind of bread as always, the same kind of cheese and the same kind of milk. You go home and ….. like every day you do the same things. You even pray the same way for many years … maybe even from you were a child. In the evening you are tired and you think your life is boring, and every next day is similar to the previous one. But if you hear the  suggestion to do something differently for example: to seat down on another place at a table, in the church, to buy another kind of cheese or to meditate Scripture instead of praying another prayer, to go another way to work – you say: for what? I always do it  and I’m fine with that! Are you sure? Do you realize that your life schemes are your trap? Why? Because you are doing everything automatically, you can’t see what and for what purpose you are doing. So, you can waste your energy on unnecessary things instead of using it well. But maybe you already know you want to change something, don’t you? But there is something that holds you back. This is your fear, fear of new, fear of unknown. This fear deprives you of your sense of security, and gives you the uncertainty. Do you allow your fear to manipulate you? Who is over who has power: you over fear or fear over you? Do you allow yourself to think that the changing of your schemes could be  the beginning of a new adventure? And it could allow you to look at yourself, other people in  different way? Do you allow yourself to think that the change that is before you is something that will make you live happier and let you live more fully ?

Make an experiment:  wash your teeth in the morning with another hand than usual, drive a different way to work or do something else differently. What positive thing can you see in your development thanks to this change?

I invite you to share your observations in comments 🙂

Rebel view # 3

Coaching crazy hardship

Today's text will be written with humor, but of course it is true. Here are 3 reasons why you should not have a mom-coach (but I have!):

1.When we are at a meeting my mom always analyzes every statement and later she tells me what is wrong.

2.When we watch a movie and a movie character says something, my mom starts to tell me that eg he/she did something or looked at the problem in a coaching way.

3.When my mom is talking to her friends and they suddenly start talking their coaching language, I totally can't understand them.

I see it at Mum and I do it myself and it's all good for me because I have coaching sessions for free – just do not tell my mom😊

Meditation Lk 1,26-38

Stand in God’s presence. God is present here and now, looking upon you with love.

Ask for the Grace: I will beg God our Lord that all my intentions and actions may be directed purely to the praise and service of His Divine Majesty

Fixing a place, a picture for meditation: See Palestine, the place, where we can see wars and unrests  till today. Look at the northern part of this land. Find there the small town Nazareth. There is a synagogue, a cemetery and a house made of clay. Miriam lives in this house. Miriam is probably about 14 – 16 years old. Try to see her face, how she looks like and see angel Gabriel. He comes to Miriam to say her news:  she will become the Mother of God.

Ask for the fruit of meditation: for the grace of being a servant of God

1. God becomes human being, because His desire is to be as close as possible to a man. He does it with Love to people, to you. God wanted you and you were conceived because of the same Love. Think for a moment how amazing your birth was.

2. See the picture of this meditation: what does Miriam experience and what is feeling at the moment,  when angel Gabriel is giving her inner knowledge, that she will become the Mother of God? After all, she is engaged to Joseph. What feelings in her are born? What desires has she in her heart? Listen to the conversation between Miriam and angel Gabriel. Allow yourself to be there and give notice to the other participants of the event.

3. God destroyed Miriam's plan. Likewise, God comes to your life. Remind yourself, when God destroyed your plans. What kind of? What did you feel then and how did you react? What did you say to God? How did this event affect your life?

4. I am the handmaid of the Lord, I am the servant of the Lord. What do these words mean for you? What do you feel about it? How do you serve others in your daily routine?

Meditation: St Ignatius encourages in The Spiritual Exercises No. 2 … Because not so much knowledge, but internal feeling and the taste of things please and saturate the soul, that is, we stay where we feel interior movement … and nervously do not try to go on.

Renewal or over again # 4

I have been working as a fitness trainer for many years. I meet people every day and see how they fight every day, whether to go to training or not to go. It does not depend only on desires, enthusiasm, finances, but also on the permanent feeling that it is necessary to do some tasks at work and at home. And even if they are on training, they are only physically on it. So where are they really? Can they truly enjoy the fitness exercises? I wonder if we give ourselves time for our renewal in any space of life, that will give us the energy and strength to undertake daily routines? I think it is easier for us to get ourselves new responsibilities. Although it leads us to growing fatigue, nervousness, irritability. Maybe we do not even notice it, because we do not have time to look inside ourselves, see what is in us, what we feel, what we want. We behave similarly in relationships with others. We can’t stop talking to each other. Can we still be present and open to another person? Can we listen to what he/ she wants to say? Maybe the other person just wants to sit down with us. Our spiritual life looks the same. We go to prayer (this is an unfortunate word, because prayer is our lifetime, but here I mean a special time to meet God) and we talk all the time. One prayer, the other, one request chasing the other request. We talk endlessly. So how do we try to know our God? Is it possible to be in a relationship with someone we do not know? Do we give our God a chance to comment, to respond? He speaks in silence. First, let’s create a special place for God inside us, near our hearts to make possible to meet with Him. Let us learn to listen to Him and to hear. Let us bring sight of ourselves on God. Regardless of whether we call it as a meditation / contemplation, it will be the time that will renew each of us.

Consider what your renewal is in every living space. Which activities, also your forms of prayer are consistent with your lifestyle, which give you joy, peace and lead you to greater Good? What do you want to do with it?

Maybe it’s worth to start something new for your renewal…. 🙂

Difficulty with a feeling of rejection # 3

Do you know the feeling of rejection? I experienced it. I think everyone got in touch with it. Rejection is not pleasant. We usually experience it acutely and painfully. First time we met with rejection in  our childhood. Then, when we did not get what we wanted and we did not get as much as we wanted. What did we need so much? We needed to: feel important, to be noticed, to be loved, to be praised, to be accepted. We need it now, too. Of course, our subconscious remember our childhood events more than our consciousness. But they greatly impact on our self-esteem and on our feeling of rejection in adulthood. Our expectations, both in childhood and in adult life, are difficult to satisfy ourselves. We usually get less or other things than we expect. That is why I think we will touch a feeling of rejection all our lives. Maybe sometimes more, sometimes less, more consciously other times less. It is a repetitive thing in our life, even though it is difficult to experience for us. Therefore, it is worth to learn to live with it, accept it and to learn to accept other people, not to reject them.

I encourage you to reflect.

Think about what makes you feel rejected? What are you doing with it? Do you allow yourself to experience optimum frustration? And further, it’s important: what good things can you get out of feeling rejection for yourself? How positive way can you use it for your development?

Rebel view #2

Runaway tails

Good morning! Hey! What’s up? Today I will tell you about my animal – his runaway tail. I have given such a title because my pet likes to run – and if it something gets to eat it runs away and I can see only its  tail. I have a rat. A female one. Tina can do some tricks, e.g.  it can walk the tightrope. I have Tina from 9 months. This is my 6th rat (earlier rats are: 1.Tusia, 2.Latka, 3.Tina, 4.Mała, 5.Tusia, and now 6. Tina).Tina probably was bored recently. Because of it, my rat decided to chew all its water feeder.  Now it has to drink water from a cup, but Tina constantly blows it. I also insert a movie. You can see how Tina is cracking the hair eraser. See you later!

Meditation Lk 1,39-56

Stand in God’s presence. God is present here and now, looking upon you with love.

Ask for the Grace: I will beg God our Lord that all my intentions and actions may be directed purely to the praise and service of His Divine Majesty

Fixing a place, a picture for meditation: Mary is on a long journey through the mountains to visit her cousin Elizabeth. She wants to share with her a joyful message. After about 4 days, She finally reaches Elizabeth’s house. She probably is very tired. She greets Elizabeth. They start talking. Try to accompany them in the meeting, listen to their conversation, sense their deep joy.

Ask for the fruit of meditation: For deep joy, filling my heart with the encounter of God

1. (…) Mary set out and traveled to the hill country with haste…. Mary has been already pregnant, but decides to go about 130 k through the mountains. In addition, she travels in a hurry. Why is She traveling with haste? Why is this meeting so important to Her? Ponder what Mary is like, what are her characteristics? She is leaving her comfort zone to go to a new experience. What does Mary teach you about your attitude? What situations cause you to go outside your comfort zone? What good comes when you do this?

2. Listen to Mary and Elizabeth. Their meeting is a model of deep connection and relationship between people. They share what they have received from God, they share God Himself. Mary and Her cousin are full of joy, inner joy. Elizabeth’s child leaped with joy in her womb. And what is a child like? Usually a child is full of trust, interested in the world and desires intimacy with another person. What is your inner child like? How and when is your inner child allowed to exist, to wake up? How are you feeling with your inner child? What does your inner child long for?

3. … from now on will all ages call me blessed. The Mighty One has done great things for me…Mary notices actions of God in Her life. She sees concrete goods from God each day. Because of this, She can and does feel loved and happy. Notice what good things you have received from God today or in the last couple of days. How do you receive them and what do you do with them?

4. Try to be with Mary at Elizabeth’s home for 3 months. Notice what Mary does and how she does it, how she helps Her cousin, how and when She speaks, when and how She is silent …

Secret help #2

Each of us sometimes receives help from others. As a concrete matter, a favor or being heard. We usually know from who and what we have got, and even why. Maybe we asked for it ourselves, or maybe someone wanted to help us. So we know who we want to thank for what and how. We have a real possibility to say Thank you. Sometimes, however, it may happen that the help will come from someone we do not know, who does not know us. We do not even know that the person lives and walks like us. More … he/she can live on the other side of the globe. I’m writing about this, because something like this has happened to me. People, I do not know, who do not know me have given me important help. Although they are busy, they have devoted their time (much time!)  and energy to do something for me. They gave their time – something that all of us value very much. We do not like to lose it, and even fight for every minute. How much love, good heart and good will you need to have in yourself to help so selflessly! Not expecting anything in return, even thanks. But we do not know each other, do we? Today I want to tell Them: Thank you 🙂

I encourage you to reflect on: have you ever received help from an unknown person? What? How can you thank for it? What is your willingness to help others in secret? Not only financial, factual, though it is very important. But the most important thing is: your help flows from your heart.
